This is absolutely shameful …

It’s been 40 years since a Black woman has been a part of The House Democratic Caucus’ leadership team.

The Caucus prides itself on diversity, however Black women have been excluded from elected senior positions in the last 4 decades. Several democrats take issue with this and believe this problem must be rectified.

Although Rep. Barbara Lee, a Black woman is the co-chair of the Steering Committee, she wasn’t elected, but instead appointed to that position by House Speaker Nancy Pelosi.

Representative Brenda Lawrence of the Congressional Black Caucus spoke with Roland Martin about how Democrats in the House are slighting Black women.
