Women in Business: Reddy Amma is an old lady who runs a naidu food mess in the old town area of Tirupati. She got into the business to earn income and supper herself. From a woman with no means she has not only created a name for herself but is also like a local power lord. Many women across India turn to micro businesses like these that don’t captured in the nations’ accounting and therefore women’s contribution to the GDP of the nation is never reflected correctly. Incidently Reddy Amma qualifies for senior citizen schemes but she doesn’t want any of it and is proud of her business and herself.
