Katharine Weymouth, granddaughter of Washington Post publisher Katharine Graham, and Washington Post investigative reporter Kimbriell Kelly, talked with students about the portrayal of Graham by Meryl Streep, the role of women in the media, the Pentagon Papers case, and other topics in the Oscar-nominated movie “The Post” during an American Forum from the School of Communication at American University in Washington, D.C. Weymouth, a former publisher and CEO of the Washington Post, and Kelly, an award-winning Post reporter, shared their personal reactions to the film and discussed the need for more diversity on corporate boards and in journalism. SOC professor Jane Hall moderated the discussion.
